Museums occupy prominent positions within city landscapes, and today cities compete each other by their museums designed by star-architects. Moreover, museums are cultural/educational institutions with political, social, and economic dimensions. 

This course focusing on the concept, content and architecture of museums, will equip students with indebt theoretical knowledge that is indispensable for both, for planning/designing exhibitions and for designing museums themselves. This is aimed to be achieved, on the one hand, through the discussions on several themes such as history and function of museums; the role they have been playing as cultural institutions; as well as contemporary approaches to museum architecture.
